Your health information is collected, stored, and managed securely and confidentially. Only authorised clinical and administrative team members who are directly involved in your care have access to your information, and all staff are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
We do not share your health information without your informed consent, unless it is required or authorised by law (e.g., to prevent serious harm, comply with mandatory reporting obligations, or respond to court orders).
This includes all personal and medical information such as your medical history, medications, test results, care plans, and other records. We take all reasonable steps to ensure your information is accurate, up to date, and protected from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access.

Infection Prevention and Control Policy
At Aged Care Doctor Services, we are committed to providing a safe and hygienic environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. Our infection prevention and control practices are guided by the RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition), Australian infection control guidelines, and relevant state and territory legislation.
Key Principles:
-
Risk Management: We routinely identify, assess, and manage risks related to infection control in our clinic setting.
-
Hand Hygiene: All clinical and non-clinical staff follow strict hand hygiene protocols, consistent with the National Hand Hygiene Initiative.
-
Standard and Transmission-Based Precautions: We apply standard precautions to all patient care and implement additional precautions where there is a known or suspected risk of infection transmission.
-
Environmental Cleaning: Our facilities are regularly cleaned and maintained using appropriate cleaning agents and schedules. High-touch areas are cleaned more frequently.
-
Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Appropriate PPE is used according to the level of risk, in line with national guidelines.
-
Instrument Reprocessing and Sterilisation: All reusable medical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilised, and stored according to current infection control standards. Single-use instruments are disposed of after one use.
-
Waste Disposal: Clinical and general waste is separated and disposed of in accordance with local regulations and best practice protocols.
-
Staff Training: All staff receive ongoing education and training in infection prevention and control procedures, including updates during outbreaks or emerging infectious risks.
-
Management of Exposure Incidents: We have protocols in place for managing exposure to blood or body fluids, needle-stick injuries, and other infectious risks. These incidents are documented, reviewed, and addressed in line with health and safety legislation.
Ongoing Commitment
Our clinic continually reviews and updates infection control protocols to reflect current evidence-based practices and ensure compliance with the RACGP Standards. Regular audits are conducted to assess our infection control performance and identify areas for improvement.
If you have any concerns or questions about our infection control measures, please speak with a member of our team. Your health and safety are our highest priorities.
